Questions

Frequently asked questions

What happens at my first visit?

A talk about your neck and your history, a seated exam of the upper neck and a review of what your doctor found. If your doctor finds a reason for an adjustment, they explain it first and make it only if you agree.

Is it safe?

Every kind of care carries some risk. Soreness after an adjustment is common and usually short. Rare serious problems, including stroke, have been reported after neck adjustments, so your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment and you can say no to any step. If you have a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, or trouble speaking or seeing, call 911 or see a physician first.

Will it hurt?

The exam and the adjustment use light, specific pressure. Some people feel sore for a day. Tell your doctor at any point if something is uncomfortable, and we stop.

How many visits will I need?

Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and changes it as you go. We do not promise a number of visits, and you can stop at any time.

Do you take my insurance?

We bill many plans for the parts of a visit a plan covers. How fees work explains what we bill, what we give you in writing and how to check your plan.

What if I do not use insurance?

You pay at the visit and you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Ask for it when you book and we give it to you in writing before your first visit.

Do I need x-rays?

Only when they are medically necessary. Your doctor tells you why before any imaging is taken, and you can decline it.

Can I bring my child, or come while pregnant?

Our visits are planned for adults. If you are pregnant, or you are asking about a child, call us first and we will tell you plainly whether we can help. We make no claims about pregnancy or children.

What if I have seen another provider?

Tell us who. With your written permission, we share what we find with your physician or another provider, and we ask for what they know about your neck.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit, so another patient can use the time. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.

Still have a question?

Call us or send a message. We answer plainly.
