Care

Neck evaluation

A talk and a seated exam of the top of your neck, for adults who want to know what is going on before they decide on care.

Your doctor looks at how you sit and stand, how your head rests on your neck and how the top two vertebrae move. At the end you get a plain account of what the exam found, and you decide what happens next.

A visit includes

  • A talk about your history and what you want from care

  • A seated check of posture and head position

  • Hands-on checks of how the upper neck moves

  • Imaging only when it is medically necessary

A chiropractor gently supports a seated patient's neck during a neck evaluation.

What to expect

What to expect

  • How long and how often

The evaluation is one visit, about an hour. Whether care follows is your choice, and your doctor sets a plan only if you want one. We do not promise a number of visits.

  • What we do not claim

We do not promise results, and results vary. An exam is not a test for any disease or condition, and we make no claims about conditions.

  • Before you book

If you have had a recent injury, a fall, or new weakness or numbness, tell us when you call. We may ask you to see a physician before we examine your neck.

  • How it is paid

At the visit, with an itemized receipt. How fees work explains plans, self-pay and the Good Faith Estimate.

Questions

Questions about this visit

Do I have to start care after the exam?

No. You can take what the exam found and go. Your doctor says whether upper cervical care fits and what else you might ask your physician.

Do I need imaging first?

Only when it is medically necessary. Your doctor tells you why before any imaging is taken, and you can decline it.

What should I wear?

Whatever you wore to work or to the car. We do not ask you to undress, and a gown is available if you want one.
